The main temple podium and the pronaos flooring in the minor temple were restored as part of plans to preserve, restore and make the Samnite sanctuary usable.
A permanent roof has been erected in order to protect the main temple podium from atmospheric agents. Plans are also in place to replace the temporary roofs over the Italic altar and mediaeval tower with permanent structures, in the same way.
Explanatory panels have been positioned inside the archaeological site in order to provide visitors with immediate information.
A documentation centre will be built in the future, providing an introduction to the visit to the archaeological site and providing an overall picture of finds in the Schiavi d’Abruzzo area. It is hoped that the finds, coming from past and future research, can be housed in a museum to be constructed in a building in the town centre, which has already been set aside for this purpose by the Municipal Council. |
